Let Hilti help to validate if anchors have been installed correctly or determine the missing resistance values in unknown base material

•Looking to validate and document the installed quality of fasteners?

•Is the combination of anchor and base material missing from the technical documentation you're using?

•Hilti's anchor site testing service is the solution.

As a Project Manager, you may need to proof test post-installed anchors or post-installed rebar in order to verify and document the installed quality as a reference document for Quality Manager, Project Owner or an external inspector.

As a Structural Engineer, you may not have enough data available to determine the resistance of a post-installed anchor for a safer, efficient and cost-effective design. Approval documents or technical manuals may not cover the base material. You're most likely to encounter this when working on reinforcement or restoration projects with older, possibly damaged, concrete or masonry, but also with natural stone or porous materials, etc.

For both cases, Hilti offers on-site tensile testing services.

Our engineers work with you on the jobsite, and then provide a digital test report in PDF with load and displacement values.

On request, an additional evaluation report can be provided with calculated resistance or with a quality assessment, both according to official guidelines.

However, site-testing one or more products, independent of the reason, can never:

•Serve as a substitution for an approval document

•Serve to overrule an existing approval document

•Serve to conclude which is a “better” product by comparison

•Serve as a substitution for proper anchor design

What do i get after onsite testing

1. Test Report with:

  • Customer and jobsite information
  • Fastener and base material information
  • Installation and test equipment information
  • Test information and test results:

- Test picture  and comment per trial

- Load and displacement values

- Load versus time and load versus displacment graph

Displacement measurement enbales a qualitative plausibility check based on the load versus  displacement relationship. It helps to ensure a more reliable assessment of tests regarding consistency and predictability of anchor behavior.

  • Comparison of tests trials within the same series
  • comparison of destructive or failed  test trials with typical failure curves

2. Evaluation report (optional) with:

Calculated design resistance based on

Calculated allowable resistance based on:

  • British Standard

Which anchor site tests are available?

Validation of installation quality

Validation of installation quality

If you're a Project Manager or Quality Manager, you can use this service to get test data and documentation without holding up progress on-site. The test report we supply is designed to be presented to your inspectors, clients and specifiers.

Useful when:

  • You need to validate and document installation quality for post-installed anchors or post-installed rebar
Determination of resistance

Determination of resistance

If you're an Engineer who needs to specify anchors, this service can help you to easily design the right fastener in non-standard cases. You get the peace of mind that the masonry or concrete anchor you specify can perform as you need it to.

Useful when:

  • You need to determine an anchor's resistance in a specific unknown or uncertain base material

Accurate and comprehensive test results including displacement measurement via digital data transfer
Anchor Site Testing may help to avoid the slow and error-prone step of manually noting test results. Hilti's latest generation of anchor testing equipment transfers readings, including load versus displacement graphs, directly to the analysis software – cutting out scope for human error.

Competent and consistent service execution through Hilti-certified service providers
Hilti has developed a rigorous, methodical approach to anchor testing, carried out by a highly trained team of Engineers. This combination helps to avoid common testing pitfalls.

All applications up to 370 kN covered through Hilti test equipment
Just as Hilti has fasteners for every imaginable application, you can also rely on us for anchor testing in everyday construction as well as highly specialized engineering works.

Model code coverage for test result evaluation
No matter where your project is located, our technical scope of resistance determination of anchor/rebar in unknown base material is covered under British standards. Contact your Field Engineer or Account Manager to find out more.

The bottom line: you get the foundation for validated, documented installed quality & efficient design.
