I am Designing post-installed dowels, where the existing structure is of stone masonry, and new base slab of 750mm thickness is casted. I have to design the dowels for a shear and axial tension of 74kN and 84kN respectively. Few limitations I encountered are:
- Cannot model existing masonry walls in "Post-installed Rebar" design tab. and cannot model my base slab in the "Anchoring to Masonry" design tab.
- As i am unable to model the masonry wall, i have to provide minimum strength of 20MPa in the existing concrete tab, and thus my existing concrete fails in concrete Breakout failure.
- I am using Hilti HIT V4 Resin. I had a query here that, whether we consider the resin strength or the strength of the material in which the resin is applied, in this case the masonry wall.
- I am using HILTI HIT V4 Resin which has a considerably higher strength as compared to my loads acting in tension

Hello Mr. Jay,
Thanks for asking and apologies for delay in reply due to technical issues.
The Post Installed Rebaring requires base material (to be anchored) as concrete and the chemicals are tested accordingly. That's why there is no option in the Software to model masonary wall for Rebaring. The option of masonary wall is available in case of Anchoring with threaded rods only but no Rebaring.
