FAQ : Importance of cracked concrete consideration in post installed anchor design
When and Why should we consider cracked concrete while designing Post Installed Connections?

When? Always,
Why? Structural Members subjected to Bending and direct tension stresses, experience tension and the concrete in that portion is always assumed to be cracked by RC design theories (IS 456: Limit State Method allows crack width upto 0.3 mm in concrete).
For eg. Beam/slab in flexure has cracked concrete on tension side, Cantilever slab/beam has tension on top hence, cracked concrete.
