Seismic Approval for an anchor, is just a document stating the anchor is certified to withstand seismic. However, each anchor will require a set of parameters and the load carrying capacity of the anchor will vary under seismic activity. For example, an anchor which is withstanding a load of 10kN under tension in static load, might carry only 4-6kN depending on the type of anchor.
Hence it is highly recommended to DESIGN UNDER SEISMIC, even though the anchor has Seismic Approval. Without a seismic design, the anchor is in critical condition and the probability of failure is higher.
