The loss of prestress in tendons of (i) pretension or (ii) post-tensioned concrete members can be classified in two main categories as follows:
(1) The immediate loss
(2) The time dependent loss

Friction loss has two components. Curvature effect and length effect.
Curvature effect is understood that it will occur in unbonded also but what about length effect which is basically due to the friction between tendon and concrete. here concrete never comes in contact with the tendon. Also the duct which is made of plastic material is too smooth to have any friction.
