What is loss of prestress due to friction? What are the methods by which frictional loss can be minimized

The maximum loss for all the cables is at x = L = 10, the anchored end. The loss due to friction can be considerable for long tendons in continuous beams with changes in curvature. The drop in the prestress is higher around the intermediate supports where the curvature is high. It is better to have joints in long run
