Protection around Electrical boxes

  Can I use the putty pads inside the boxes instead of surrounding them? How thick are they? The electrical contractor forgot to install the protection around the boxes in one of the walls and I'm trying to have a product that is thin and accomplish the objective of firestopping. Thanks,…

Thanks for posting your query.

Hilti Firestop Putty Pads can be used from inside the electric box. But, the UL certification mentions to be used from outside only. The putty pad is about 2.5 mm thick.
