Constant rate of strain (CRS) testing is done to measure the consolidation and drainage properties of the Lake Bonneville Clays. CRS testing was chosen because of its advantages over conventional incremental loading (IL) consolidation testing methods. However, a few traditional IL consolidation tests were conducted to compare the results with those of CRS consolidation tests.
